spring fever/senioritis

when i was a senior in high school, i won a superlative for senioritis (of orchestra,
i know, lame, whatever!) anyway...........
now that toby's in school, i'm getting a solid case of senioritis/spring fever. i just can't wait for school to get out! i'm not following through very well on homework or other ridiculous paperwork from school- i just wanna play and enjoy the awesome weather!!

we've all been really enjoying our new bikes and baby trailer. we are quite the sight riding around all over- to walgreens, dinner, school, our favorite yogurt shops, etc. it's super fun! and matthew has taken to having a more challenging ride on his own in the mornings, too. his tummy is melting away......boys! i've started working out again. well, i've started zumba-ing again. i love it! it's so fun, and i get a good workout in while channeling my former pommie glory.

we had a lovely easter- both sides of the family over for lunch, followed by an egg hunt. i got to sing a solo(!) with the phoenix symphony(!) on may 5th. i got to wear a dress, take a bow, and have my own dressing room!! i will never forget that experience!! i found out i am gonna be joining the arizona opera chorus- actual pay for singing- not much, but more than nothing. we shared a nice mother's day, with a fabulous breakfast at tc eggington's. looking forward to 2 more phoenix symphony chorus concert weeks, featuring rachmaninoff and mendelsohn.

then, summer vacation!!!!!!!! we're in the planning stages just now. thanks for checking in. see you again soon!

toothless toby!

toby lost both of his front teeth today at school. the right one has been

wiggly for a long time now, but the other was barely loose.

he said he wanted to see if it (the less wiggly one) was getting loose.

he wiggled it 3 times, and it came out. then the wigglier one was easier to pull out!

he's so stinkin' cute with them gone, and of couse has a adorably slight lisp.

i guess we'll teach him to sing:

"all i want for easter is my two front teeth"

bama coates visit 2011

super fun week. i love mark and leanne and always enjoy their visits.

this time, we got to help celebrate emily's 3rd birthday while

they were here! there's also a really great picture of matthew,

mark, and becky holding their babies- all born within 13 months of

each other. but becky doesn't allow anyone to post pictures of kalea,

so you'll just have to imagine how cool and cute that picture is!

toby, my love, is 7!

these are some of my favorite pictures of toby over the years.

they don't start til he's 2, cause we didn't have a digital camera until

then- i guess i need to learn how to scan pictures.... anyway,

toby stephen coates was born on a sunday night, after 3 days

of laboring, 3 hours of pushing, and then a c-section to

get his big, coates head unstuck!

he was 9 lbs 8 oz, and 21 3/4 inches long.

he has been independent since the beginning, and always

very affectionate. he is brilliantly smart, supremely sweet, and

persistently strong willed (which will serve him well in years to

come, it's just a bit challenging for his mom and dad right now). ;)

nothing could describe how much i adore this still small person.

i am blessed to watch and guide and love him every day!
